Craft Cannery Breaks Ground on $1.5 Million Expansion

Craft Cannery, a 2022 Grow-NY $500K winner, broke ground on a $1.5 million expansion to its food manufacturing facility in Bergen, NY this week.

The private label manufacturing business will more than double in size, adding 7,000 square-feet to its current 5,000 square-foot facility. The expansion will add a full-time food service packaging line for bulk-food service in gallon jugs and buckets, a new glass bottling line, and office spaces.

The expansion will create more than five full-time positions this year and expand the company’s capabilities to package and bottle pasta sauces, BBQ sauces, salad dressings, oils, marinades, and more.

“I can’t even believe it,” CEO Paul Guglielmo said. “I’m so proud to lead a team that is passionate about making delicious products on a large scale, and this expansion will allow for us to grow in the way we need over the next few years, as we plan and prepare for our next expansion.”

Construction officially started after a ground-breaking ceremony attended by Craft Cannery leaders and staff, community and fellow manufacturing leaders, and Grow-NY Program Manager Sarah Meyer.

“Since receiving their $500,000 prize, Craft Cannery has created and cultivated opportunities for growth and advancement as a contract manufacturer,” Meyer said. “They have not only established a space for innovation but also created numerous job opportunities, fueling economic growth and fostering talent within their local community. Each full-time position solidifies their commitment to making a regional impact and driving positive change within our food system.”

Grow-NY Director Jenn Smith added, “Craft Cannery’s growth is a testament to their drive and ability and brings the power of the Grow-NY program to life. As an individual company they are making a positive contribution to the economy upstate; as a leader in contract manufacturing in New York, they are helping local food companies scale up and meet consumer demand. We look forward to the ripple effect of their continued success.”

Construction on the expansion is expected to be completed this fall. Learn more about Craft Cannery here.
