Tiliter Creates Five In-Region Jobs; All Year 1 Grow-NY Winners Reach Milestones for Payment

Sydney, Australia-based Tiliter, a $500,000 Grow-NY winner in 2019, has officially reached its final milestone in its winner’s agreement, creating five full-time jobs in the Grow-NY region. The technology startup uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide retail solutions, including scanners which eliminate the need for barcodes on high turnover grocery products like fruits, vegetables, and bakery goods.

Grow-NY prize money is tied to milestones that require the winners to establish business operations in the region, which includes 22 counties in Central NY, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier. Tiliter’s deliverable was to create five additional, high-quality  jobs—all five jobs are located in Rochester, NY, where the company is a member of the NextCorps incubator.

Due to the pandemic, Tiliter faced additional challenges as Grow-NY’s first international winner; Grow-NY’s portfolio of support resources, including its mentor and regional connections, helped Tiliter hire a team in Rochester while operating out of its offices in Sydney.

All seven of the Grow-NY winners from Year 1 (2019) have now completed their Grow-NY agreements and, as a result, have created over 150 direct in-region jobs, and hundreds of indirect jobs. Additionally, RealEats, Tiliter, Dropcopter, Combplex, Capro-X, The Perfect Granola, and Whole Healthy Foods have raised over $22 million in follow-on funding combined, including $20 million in capital and $2 million in federal SBIR grants.

Stay tuned for the ways in which our Year 2 winners are meeting and exceeding their goals in the Grow-NY region!
